Russia’s
authorities don’t trust Armenia’s prime minister Nikol Pashinyan – declared the
President of the Union of Armenians in Russia Ara Abrahmyan. This is how he
commented on the statement about the fact that Armenian prime minister has
power in Armenia due to Russia’s authorities.
“Russia
can’t be against. It works with whom people chose. I don’t think that Russia’s
authorities trust Pashinyan. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be in such a situation.
Previous authorities of Armenia were highly respected in Russia.”
Abrahamyan
noted – Armenia has to create necessary conditions and raise “right” questions
for Russia to support Armenia. Also he pointed out that Armenians are not
guilty for today’s situation in their country.
“We
are a small country. If we have an ally, we have to always stand by them, until
the end. And we should have a courage to say that. Actually we can work with
both USA and Europe, but not in prejudice of our partner.”- he said.
Also
Abrahamyan emphasized the importance of Armenia’s cooperation with foreign
partners. ”Many Armenians live in America and Europe, there are organized
Armenian communities in about 87 countries. But Russia was, is and will be our
strategical partner.” He reminded that only Russia rendered real assistance
during the 44-day war in Artsakh and after the war.
Abrahamyan
said that Armenia’s existing authorities have ruined relations between Armenia
and the Diaspora, which is unacceptable. The head of the UAR said that it’s
high time for Armenians to unite round national interests. This is why he is
going to hold the “Ararat Alliance” event in Armenia , on 3-5 June for creating
a scientific center and promoting advanced technologies in the country.
